Eco Product

Eco Group is the first Ugandan cook stove manufacturer to combine clean cooking with solar power generation, and sell on a pay-as-you-go basis.

This has been possible through a co-investment from UNCDF.

Eco Education

In september this year (2021) students of the syntropic agroforestry and permaculture course for beginners in Kitgum Uganda established the first syntropic agroforestry farm under guidance of Roland van Reenen.

The course was organized by Patrick Paul Kidega for Refarmers East Africa. Facilitators were Steve Odhiambo Otieno (Tunaweza Permaculture Kisumu) and Wanjohi Wa Maina (Ancient Future Holistic Regenerative Kenya).

Sustainability

The Greater Virunga Landscape is one of the richest ecosystems in the world in terms of species diversity and endemism.

At the same time, Uganda has one of the highest deforestation rates in the world and a very high population growth rate.

To address these challenges, a forest landscape restoration approach is chosen.

The project goal is to scale up the restoration from existing 16,000 ha to 120,000 ha adjacent to protected areas in cooperation with smallholder farmers through development of forest value chains for socio-economic transformation and biodiversity.

Plastic Revolution

Flipflopi has never been just about the boat.

Instead, it's been about how the boat can bring the community together behind the cause of bringing an end to single-use plastics.

Kenya has shown they were behind this message and now we turn our attention to Uganda.

Watch the video to see all that has been achieved in only 8 days!

Now we're here in Uganda, we see the tap must be turned off here and existing laws enforced to bring an end to the plastic menace in and around Lake Victoria in Uganda.
